The publishing game was a little different in 62/63 and definitely different in 1925. Talking about your writing, selling it to the masses, and doing it with enthusiasm, is exactly how books get sold nowadays. Publishing companies and literary agents won’t spend the money to market someone who isn’t marketing themselves. Basically, they won’t publish someone who has not already done their job for them and made the book’s success as near a sure thing as anything can be.
Thanks for your feedback though. In the digital age there is no such thing as truly bad press. 😉
