The Political Speech We Should Hear Next Year

In 2020 we will be inundated with information pertaining to the US presidential elections. If the current political climate is any indication then it isn’t going to pretty and I shudder to think how the campaign speeches are going to sound. We do not need any more messages about Hope and Change because those are passive feelings that merely sound good and cannot be acted upon and we definitely don’t need any more messages about how to Make America Great Again from a man who refuses to listen to or respect any of the American people with ideas on how to do just that if those ideas are different from his own. We also should not have to hear the champions of the opposing parties hurling inflated accusations at one another like a bunch of poo flinging monkeys in the local zoo while the rest of us foam at the mouth and yell at the top of our lungs in an alarming display of primal tribalism. What we need is a powerful speaker who will paint the image of our similarities with their words. We need a leader who will coax us onto common ground so that we can walk forward together. It is not going to be an easy job.
