International Day of the Girl!
It blows my mind that we are still fighting for equal treatment. It has been one hundred years since women’s suffrage! Why is this still a thing?
International Day of the Girl takes place on Friday October 11, 2019. It is a day to celebrate girls and women who inspire, innovate, and take charge of their lives. Females in every corner of the globe have less access to the resources that help people become successful and still they rise. We are marginalized, we are silenced, we are made to feel inferior, and still the brilliance of each strong girl shines.
Each little girl and every single woman are a beating heart, a vital organ of the Powerful She. Whether they endeavor to be the next prima ballerina or the next chief executive officer, their courageous steps are heavy with the power of change. What we say and how we contribute to the formation of their identity as well as their perspective of the world could pave their road or pulverize their spirit. We need to take care of them and guide each one with a careful hand.
Let us lift them up and carry them into the light so that we may all experience a brighter future.
Let us change the way we talk about mighty girls and may we cultivate the strength that dwells within them and within ourselves as well.
