I love the emphasis you placed on the questionable nature of the rule. Officials who justify that disqualification are now saying, basically, that the rule made them do it. The rule gave them authority to do that.

The rule is too vague to allow anyone to do anything with confidence in my opinion and should never have been a rule to begin with.
