For some reason I thought of an excerpt from a book about Charles Dickens and his Christmas Carol when I read your comment. Life was bumping and grinding against him and he was living an existence entirely outside of the practicalities, or the hardships, presented by money. He just wrote, because in that moment it came easier to him than anything in the world.
